Strength & Weakness

There has been much going on lately, and as a result I have been doing some writing to help me process everything. Here's one I wrote the other night. Perhaps it is something you can relate to...It was written in light of the biblical passage 2 Corinthians 12:8-10. I have been realizing lately that there is much in life that is not in my control, much that my mind can't comprehend, and much that my hands can't accomplish. However, in this state of weakness, I am strengthened when I recognize and trust God, who is in control, who can understand, and whose hands can accomplish.

~~~~~~~~~~
Strength & Weakness
For all my knowledge I don't know where I will sleep tonight
For all my learning I don't know if I handled this right
For all my education I don't know when I'll see the end of this plight
My mind is too weak, too weak
For all my talents I can't obtain what I'm needing
For all my abilities I can't prevent the bleeding
For all my strength I can't keep myself from conceding
My flesh is too weak, too weak
But strength is not found in body or mind
Where muscles flex and wheels grind
And when all these troubles won't pass behind
There is strength in weakness
Amen. I remember the feeling of homelessness... it's not pleasant. And learning that God's strength is best displayed through our weakness is hard lesson as it requires our honesty and vulnerability and our willingness to let go of our ideas of success and normalcy. Thanks for this reminder...
