Next Monday, Lord willing, I will be moving to Bowling Green to take an internship with the Baptist Campus Ministry at Western Kentucky University. It is a very exciting opportunity. These past few months have been a struggle both to contain the excitement and to wait patiently for some of the logistics to fall into place. Just within the past week God has provided the funding I need to support myself and provided a place to live. I can’t even begin to tell you what huge blessings these are. (Also, both are pretty amazing stories. There’s not enough room to share them here, but I’ll share them with you if you ask)
Mixed in with the excitement has been sadness. It has been difficult to fathom leaving my friends and family here in Louisville. They have helped me through so much and taught me so much. God has tremendously blessed me through them. As I have processed all of this over the past few months I put my thoughts and emotions into song form. Some of you were able to hear it at my farewell party, but the rest of you will have to wait until I find the time to record it. Louisville friends, this one’s for you. This is the best way I know how to say “thank you.” No matter how well we keep in touch, you will always be with me.

Moving Forward
My heart is coming through my throat
As the future’s staring at me and present becomes the past
So many years this has been my home
But it couldn’t last forever and now it’s time to go away
How can I leave all I’ve ever known?
How can I leave all I’ve ever loved?
Now I can see that when you’re moving forward
You’re always leaving something behind
Now I can see it’s time for moving forward
But I don’t want to leave you behind
My heart leaps within my chest
When I think of all the memories of moments we have shared
Thick and thin, you were there for me
Demonstrating mercy, showing me the love of God
How can I leave those who were there for me?
How can I leave those who cared for me?
Now I can see that when you’re moving forward
You’re always leaving something behind
Now I can see it’s time for moving forward
But I don’t want to leave you behind
But I’ll never leave all these memories
I’ll never leave all you taught me
Of life and love and how to be a friend
Now I can see that when you’re moving forward
You’re always leaving something behind
Now I can see it’s time for moving forward
But I will never leave you behind
It’s time for moving forward
But I will never leave you behind
