Summer and Beyond

The wait is over, summer is here! I feel like my life has been on hold ever since I accepted the position as a director for Son Bound (a collegiate sports ministry team) in October. Finding a temporary job was hard with a masters degree and little experience, but God provided. Still, I feel like I've spent much more time looking ahead than living in the now. I don't know if that is good or not.

Son Bound (pictured above) starts its training on Thursday. We will train for a week and a half and then the guys will head off for their KY ministry. They will be traveling to various churches and children's homes across the state. After that they will head for Poland to work at a couple of youth camps there. I'm really excited for what God has in store for them this summer. Please be in prayer for them and their ministry. They are from left to right: (top) Bentley Caldwell - WKU, Chad Martin - WKU, Steve Clark - UofL, Ben Keith - Berea, Josh Yuen - UofL

As for me, I'll get a couple of weeks off after training to move, and then off to Poland on June 22nd! The first two weeks there I will be helping with a couple of orphan camps, one in Marwica and one in Warsaw. After that, Son Bound will arrive and we'll go to a couple of youth camps in Ustka and Sopot. Then, we'll all come home on July 31st. It's going to be a full summer, but it will be a blast.

In other news, I just found out today that I got accepted to seminary! So much for the engineering degrees? I don't know what will happen with those yet. I do know will be starting school again in the fall. So, it appears life will return to some sort of stability then, and that will be a welcome change. I should be able to keep my job while I'm in school, which will be nice. I'm glad God is control of my life because everything seems to work out better than if I had planned it. It has certainly been much more exciting.

See you in August...

AHH... Can't wait to see you in Seminary...Are you taking evening classes? I noticed you are keeping your job but I don't know what shift you work. Perhaps if you are taking day class we could go to chappel together sometime.
