Our team left camp Sunday morning for Somerset, after two tiring weeks of training. We finally got all our ball drills and stuff down just in time. So far we are having a blast. We're working at the KY Baptist Homes for Children (KBHC) camp here, basically just playing sports with the kids and hanging out right now to build relationships with them. The leadership has decided to ease us into it more this year than last year which has seemed to work well so far. The kids have definitely been warming up to us quicker this year. I think it also helps that our team is all guys, since it is an all boys camp (teenage guys are pretty awkward and shy around girls).
Anyway, so far we've just been doing a lot of hanging out and playing sports. In the mornings we have been doing a high ropes course, which has been both fun and challenging. In the afternoons we've played disc golf, played basketball, played socci (yes, that is how it is spelled), swam in Lake Cumberland, and rode a jet ski, all with the kids. That's just been two days! Needless to say we're having a lot of fun, and our team and the kids are getting along great.
That's about all I've got for now. We'll be performing in Louisville this weekend at Maple Grove Baptist Church (which is off Smyrna Rd). So if you'd like to get a better idea of what we do, come out and see us. We'll be performing about 50 minutes of the Sunday morning service (10:45 AM) and about 30 minutes of the Sunday evening service (6:00 PM). If you have any questions email me or call my cell phone. I may not respond right away, but I will get back to you as soon as I can.
Please continue to keep us in your prayers.
